"Great hole in the wall burger joint. Although there is lots of seating and space inside and out. Burgers are indeed huge and priced moderately for a very large meal. Tasty and fresh. Friendly and helpful staff. Well worth the stop in."

"My friend and I have never been here and we both love burgers. We came here on a Friday afternoon before the school kids got out. I ordered a bacon burger with garlic fries, and a nutter butter milkshake, and my friend got a cheeseburger with fries, and a butterfinger milkshake. The burgers were definitely big but the meat lacked seasoning. The burgers were stuffed with lettuce, onion, pickles and tomatoes. I want to say I love lettuce but the burger had way too much lettuce. The burger also did not have enough special sauce so it was kinda dry despite the extra salad. To their credit they did give me a good portion of thick bacon which I appreciated. Both regular and garlic fries were okay; they also did not salt or season the fries. I did like the garlic, parsley, and cheese in my fries. The milkshake were excellent though; very rich and creamy. Overall, a nice little local place to grab a decent burger and shake, but for the value, I think you get better for the price."

"i came back home to visit my parents in p-town and had to come get my favorite burger ever. i was born in 1967 and remembered coming here for the hamburgers and shakes back in high school. nothing has changed and the food is no frills, just excellent fresh ingredients, meat is always hot and juices and the food is extremely consistent. in my opinion better than in and out. i always get the bacon double swiss cheeseburger. i love this place and so will you if you don't care what the ambiance looks like. the reason they have been here since 1971 speaks volumes. if you are in the area dont be fooled by the look. the food keeps me coming back."

"The Philly lacked flavor , the green chili burger was very flavorful and I'd order it again. The price for the onion rings and the number of them you get us extremely disappointing . Nothing special about the atmosphere."

"Historic burger place- a must try if you're in Pleasanton. The name "ain't no lie".... The burgers are BIG. They are Served on a sesame seed roll and very good quality meat and juicy. Ordered the fries crispy and they came out hot and delicious, very generous size. Also tried an order of Philly cheesesteak fries- very good and generous with the toppings."

"Went in for lunch and enjoyed a chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken was cooked well but was a little thin. Nice staff and old school vibes inside."

Most Disliked things

Some reviews mention that burgers can be lacking in seasoning. A few customers find the amount of lettuce excessive, which can overshadow the burger's flavor. The fries, while fresh, could use more seasoning to enhance the taste. The ambiance is quite casual, which isn't for everyone. Some diners might prefer a more polished setting. The wait during peak hours can be frustrating, particularly on weekends. Certain menu items like the onion rings receive mixed feedback regarding their portion size. However, despite these criticisms, many still return for the burgers and shakes.
